About the founder
Texas-born Sam Lallement began designing at a young age, receiving an honorary costume design award in high school before attending the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she earned her BFA in Fashion Design. During her time there, she was recognized by Anne Fontaine as a nominated designer noted for her risk-taking, and designed a custom coat sold in a Boston boutique while still a student.
Sam began her career in New York in 2021, designing for HUTCH, a contemporary label carried by Anthropologie and Revolve, where her work was featured in Forbes. She went on to design for numerous private label companies, bridging merchandising and production across Korea, the Philippines, and Vietnam, and contributed design work and production for New York-based luxury labels including Orseund Iris.
Five years after starting her career, Samantha launched Apparé in 2026, translating half a decade of technical and commercial design experience into a small, considered collection rooted in storytelling, performance and character.
